POLARIZING NANO SPHEROIDS (PNS)
Integrated Photonics nano-engineered PNS POLARIZERS employ a patented oblique deposition process that results in a nano-structure of elongated silver POLARIZING NANO SPHEROIDS (PNS). These sub-wavelength particles preferentially transmit the component of the incident electric field that is linearly polarized in a direction perpendicular to the long axis of each particle. The orthogonal electric field component is resonantly rejected by virtue of accelerating conduction electrons contained within each microscopic particle. The low-temperature oblique deposition process allows for a great diversity of substrate selection. The polarizing action is restricted to the PNS layer may be as thin as 2mm. The substrate is used entirely for mechanical support.
